Amber E. Ferry
Amber E. Ferry graduated from Emory University in 2002 with a joint B.A. in both History and Political Science. While in college, she was elected to the College Council and also interned for both Emory’s lobbyist to Capitol Hill and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives before deciding to study law. The University also employed her as a writing tutor for fellow students. After college, Ms. Ferry attended the University of Miami School of Law on a merit scholarship, where she obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2005. In law school, Ms. Ferry concentrated her studies on admiralty law and was awarded a clerkship at a prestigious maritime firm headed by one of her professors. She also interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Southeastern Headquarters in Miami.
Prior to joining Moore & Company, Ms. Ferry began her legal career as an associate at a maritime law firm specializing in defense of marine insurance claims, where she gained experience in litigation involving first and third-party yacht claims, including claims involving salvage, property damage, marine environmental claims, vessel fires, and personal injuries to passengers and crew. She also drafted or improved upon various types of maritime contracts, including yacht hull insurance policies and purchase and build agreements. More recently, Ms. Ferry’s practice has focused on representation of cruise lines in litigation of various types of claims, including defense of passenger and crew personal injury claims and claims brought pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as contractual and marine products liability disputes. Since joining Moore & Company, she has continued to utilize her expertise to assist clients with both litigation and transactional work.
Ms. Ferry is currently a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Dade County Bar Association.
