John Curtis

Johnlee Curtis earned his LL.M. in International Trade Law and Economics, magna cum laude, from the World Trade Institute (Switzerland). He was awarded a Ph.D. fellowship from the University of Lucerne (Switzerland), where he lectured and taught graduate level law students the regulation of international trade, as a member of the University's faculty of law. Thereafter, through NCCR, a trade-advisory program of the Swiss government, Mr. Curtis served as an international trade law consultant in Berne, Lucerne, and Geneva in coordination with the Berkman Center at Harvard University, and other centers of research on the nexus between the rules governing international trade in cultural commodities and their application to new and emerging technology. Prior to his work in Europe, Mr. Curtis received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where he received the Book Award from professors Bickel and Lake, and the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award.  Mr. Curtis earned his B.A. in Political Science from Furman University, while maintaining a full music scholarship (violin).

At Moore & Company, Mr. Curtis uses transactional, arbitral, and litigation skills in the fields of maritime, aviation, and art law, and serves as the chair of the Art Law practice group at Moore & Company known as Art Law Miami.

He is licensed in Florida and the District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is a member of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, International Communications and Art Law Lucerne, the International Section of the American Bar Association, and the Art & Cultural Heritage Law Committee. 

Mr. Curtis has authored articles in the 2008 Florida Yacht Brokers Association News, Fall 2006 volume of the Cambridge International Journal of Cultural Property, and has edited an article published in the Winter 2006 volume of the Georgetown Journal of International Economic Law.

Mr. Curtis is fluent in French, competent in German, and conversational in Swiss German.
